Suicide isn't cool.

Have you guys heard of the incident Alviss Kong ? This 22 years old boy committed suicide after his girlfriend broke off with him after 4 months. For those living under the stone, yes, 4 months i didn't type wrongly. To be honest, I do find him selfish and ...yeah stupid. But amidst of the name calling, I also pity him. No one ever deserve to die so young. He is only 22 years old.

Unlike what everybody thinks, I don't think he died for 'love' (I have my own opinions on the matter), but rather that his death could have been prevented if people are more alert to his subtle cries of help. With misconceptions like 'people who threaten to suicide most probably won't do it', people wouldn't believe it even when you tell them straight at their face..let alone hearing these silent cries of help. Personally, if i were to kill myself I wouldn't tell anyone about it (lol. No I am fine. Don't worry).

It's good to say, suicide isn't cool. Taking your own life is a sin to many religions. Even if you are an atheist, you should also consider your friends, family and other close to you before killing yourself. Life is surely not just about couple love, it's more than that ! So scrub that "omg so mulia and 'wai dai' this guy, 'sacrificing' himself for love'. I lol'ed when a friend sent me his tribute video. It's like you walking then you pokai, and then people make tribute video of you for pokai-ing. Don't over do it guys. Let the dead sleep in peace for heaven sake. At the rate of how this thing is going, he is going to become a freaking world icon tomorrow and might even end up in your sejarah book. =.=

So how do you even figure out if someone is considering suicide ? How do you know whether the threat is real ? I will say, don't risk it. Treat all the threats real. If its real, and you didn't do anything about it, not only will you regret, but you will have missed a chance to safe your friend.

  1. A suicidal person never wants to die. A suicidal person is in pain and they need help, instead of screaming "OMG I NEED HALP 111!!!", they exhibit signs which is easily recognized.
  2. And a suicidal person will always show these tendencies and signs.
  3. I think a suicidal person will always leave something behind for others to know that he took his own life...after all it sucks if you committed suicide and people thought you went to Macau for holiday.
  4. Contrary to the popular saying that people who commit suicide are cowards because they are trying to run from reality, it is only half true. Suicide requires A LOT of guts (I am certain of that. Don't ask me why tho. Te hee!).

So did you see any sad people today ? Someone who is lonely ? Depressed ? Helpless ? Troubled ? Extend your hand, help and comfort those in need...People should always help each other...After all we are all the same.

A site to clear those stupid myths:

A site to help identify some of the characteristics of suicide:

To Cameron and back !

Went to Cameron Highland today ! It's been a while since I've been to Cameron Highland. The place has changed so much since I last visited. Not only has the environment isn't as chilling as it used to be, it is also much much more polluted. Cameron Highland now not only stinks of cow dung but also rubbish. We basically passed by a dump site, which is so dirty and stinky that all you could see in the field as far as the eye can see are just, rubbish.

It's really sad to see how development pollutes the environment...but not all are lost, as some part of Cameron Highland still remain unchanged and unaffected by pollution. Now do you guys know what is a Bengala Chilli ?

This small plate of fire and brimstone

I am not sure, but is this the chilli I ate ?

THIS chilli should never be understimated by any self proclaimed 'Spicy Food Veteran', due to the fact that despite it's miniature size, it's EXTREMELY SPICY AND POTENT. Just a nibble is enough to make you go "woooaahhh!!!". In fact, the soya sauce itself is so spicy that I finish my whole glass of ice tea. >_>

We also visited the strawberry farm. Took a picture of a gigantic sunflower and some beautiful and cute looking cactus. I have friends that actually tried taking care of a cactus but the cactus died anyway. I mean...a cactus is a plant that can survive the harshest environment in earth, the desert, but dies in the room of a college student. NOW that speaks a lot isn't ?

OMG look at the size of that ! It's bigger than my face !!

some weird but beautiful plant taken up close.

I kinda love cactus. I always thought a girlfriend/boyfriend is like cactus, it is spiky but at the same time they are cute, lovable and extremely durable. Your partner is not perfect but still you will always love them for what they are right !? Ok enough of my philosophies here are the photos !

A small flower bulb of a cactus.

I am a cute little cactus, I am thorny but please don't hate me ! Please buy me !

Jensen bought a new cowboy hat. He seems pretty proud of it but later got worried when he remembered a film called 'Broke Back Mountain'.

Someone is obviously loving his hat.

After that we went to Bharat Tea House Plantation for some tea and some nice sweeeties ! =D

Brownies + Scoop of Ice Cream + Strawberry = DELICIOUS !

Jensen's Blueberry Cheese Cake

Oh btw, do you guys watch the drama series called "Lost" ? I didn't watch it but I heard it's good...and this random photo kinda reminds me of the drama...so I tweaked it a bit...THERE ! Lost Malaysian edition starring Aaron, Jensen, Shawn Chin and Ashley Wong (the one playing with the handphone) ! Place setting is in Cameron Highlands.

Science Behind Lie To Me : Emotions

Now as everyone knows, I am a huge fan of the ongoing series named Lie To Me. Not because of the storyline or the interesting cases (some of them are interesting but not all), rather it's science behind the show that draws my attention. They say the eye is the window to the soul, which is actually quite true.

Do you know that the cast Dr.Lightman in Lie To Me is actually based on a real person called Paul Ekman ? He is a brilliant psychologist who researched on facial expressions and emotions. Recently I am reading one of his books "Emotions Revealed - Recognizing Faces and Feelings To Improve Communication and Emotional Life", and I must say this is a very good and informative book. I recommend it to anybody who is interested in improving their sensitivity to other people feeling while conversing.

While my main aim is not really to be a walking lie detector like Dr.Lightman in Lie To Me, I actually want to be able to discern what others are really feeling when they share their problems with you. Knowing how people is feeling during conversations opens up a new dimension that you will probably never notice unless you read the book.

Here is an easy one. Now can you tell me what emotion does the photo depicts ? Fear, Sadness, Anger, Contempt, Disgust, Surprise or Enjoyment ? The answer is at the end of the post.

Most the time, we take words for granted and fail to see how people is feeling. Ever wonder why God even give us the capability to show the the emotion 'Sadness' on our face ? The messages of sad and agony revolves around "I am suffering; comfort and help me...". The sad person might not have voiced out for comfort, but the brain knows that the person is feeling sad and quickly sends a message to the face to reach out to the others for help and comfort. That also explains why you feel sad when you see other grieved stricken. It is so that you reach out and help the person in need. The book continues to explain how to identify sadness on people faces which I will talk about in the future if I have time. :)

And here are some trivia and facts on Emotions. Emotions are classified into Fear, Anger, Disgust, Sadness, Contempt, Surprise and Enjoyment.

Emotions are powerful feelings that overrides even the most fundamental motives that drives our life. Namely, sex, hunger and the will to life. A child that is sexually abuse will develop fear or maybe disgust over sex and that might hinder her from having sex with others. When you are disgusted with a food, your emotion overrides your hunger. Finally, sorrow can cause people to commit suicide, effectively robbing them the will to life.

Are emotions universal then ? Some psychologist argued that emotions are different in different cultures. For example, in many cultures, people smile when they are sad. So interpretation of emotions are based on the culture itself. While this is half true, the writer call these as "Display Rules". Display Rules are the faces and mask that people wear when they are out in the open with others. It is taught and learned. An experiment was carried out, by isolating both a Japanese and an American in a room. When shown photos and videos, both of them show the same facial expression, BUT, when interviewed by a scientist the Japanese smiled when asked about something sad. When left alone, EVERYBODY shows the same facial expression and emotion, thus emotions are universal.

The answer is slight sadness. Notice how the upper eyelids droop down. Tired or sleepy could also be correct. Many might think it is a relaxed face, but if you close the lower part of the face with your hand, you will notice the eye actually looks kinda tired and sad.

Review : Hanazakari no Kimitachi e

I am Oscar of Dorm 3 !

What the frack ?

It's been a while since I posted a post. =D But oh well, all is well and fine. Gonna post when I feel like it. =P Well anyway I am going to review a j-dorama I watched recently. *drums roll*

  • Name : Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (a.k.a Hana Kimi)
  • English Name : For You in Full Blossom
  • Genre : Comedy, School Life, Romance, and Slice of Life
  • Episodes : 12 and 1 special episode
  • Actors : Horikita Maki as Ashiya, Oguri Shun as Sano and Ikuta Toma as Nakatsu and others...(Too much to name lol)
What It's About
About a girl called Ashiya who comes to Japan all the way from California to help Sano, a high jump hero, who quits the sport after an accident involving Ashiya. She disguises herself as a male and enrolled in an all boys school where Sano studies in and helps him to get back into high jumping.

Throughout her stay in the school dorm, she befriends and meets a lot of people that made supported her and encourage her as she faces difficulties.

Personal Thought

Who would have thought that I would watch the japanese adaptation of Hana Kimi after I watched the taiwan version. The taiwan version really give me a bad impression of the show. I mean, come on ! Look at Ella and Maki (look at picture above...the 'girl' at the center). Ashiya IS NOT SUPPOSE TO LOOK EXACTLY LIKE A GUY and MALES DON'T FALL FOR PEOPLE THAT LOOKS LIKE GUYS unless they have homosexual tendecies (which they don't).

Ella looks like a guy. She is flat...I MEAN REAL FLAT !! FLAT FLAT ! LAPANGAN TERBANG KLIA FLAT( How did she do it anyway?) !

Pic from jaycee05.wordpress.com

I guess I could give her the credit of looking like a guy. Good job Ella for looking like a guy (is that even a compliment ?) !! >_>. But on the other hand...gee...I mean come on, in the Taiwanese version, both the guys look prettier than Ella. Ella tried too hard in my opinion. Exaggerated expressions are annoying, felt the urge to give him (I mean her) a FALCON PUNCH !! on her face. Nevermind her looks, that I can forgive, it's her acting that really puts me off.

Maki as Ashiya is believable given that some of Japan's teenage boys really looks like girls (and sometimes even better... EEEK DON'T KILL ME !). Nakatsu falling for Ashiya is believable too since Ashiya IS A GIRL AND LOOKS LIKE ONE EVEN IN DISGUISE. Nakatsu and Sano falling for Ella's Ashiya ? Now that is downright homosexual-ness but I guess it's alright cause beauty is at the eye of the beholder. Taiwanese version is ok...it's just Ella...and it's so LOOONGGG...GROAAANS

Ella aside, Hana Kimi (japanese version) is pretty humorous and funny. There were instances I 'ROFL' and go 'WHAT THE FRACK !?' and it's really that good. It's not perfect but it's good enough.

Sano...eh what can I say ? So kayu and cool. Personally, I dislike such kind of characters even in real life. He is a high jumper but quits after he met an accident. Not a fan of the actor either but I found him likeable. Even rooted for him when he high jump...Wishing that he will jump pass the pole. Being a star jumper the accident really impacted him. Even though he gives others the cold shoulder, what I like about him is he has a strong and enduring attitude. Willing to take pain and rejection in order to accomplish what he desires (in a good way).

Ashiya is cute. I enjoyed her role in Nobuta and I certainly enjoyed her role in this drama too. Selfless and kind. Leaving California and going to Japan and enrolling in all boy school ? Now that's bawlz. Always caring and helping others, now wouldn't it be nice if we have a friend such as her ? She acted well and it's especially funny when she is adjusting her life in an all boys school when everybody is rushing into the room to borrow shampoo half naked.

I particularly feel for Nakatsu due to the fact that among the trio he is one less loved and faces a lot of dilema. I mean...if you are a male, and you found out you like another male...that is dilema enough. But after one whole night of thinking and accepting yourself as gay, and the next day you find out that guy is actually a girl...man...now that is one EXTREME SEXUAL CONFUSION. I would feel like cutting my wrist too. Nakatsu is also silly, happy-go-lucky and fun to hang out with. Always smiling and not wanting other to see how he really felt. He acted his role nicely, in fact I rooted for him over Sano...even though I already know what the outcome is. Nakatsu you are cool and great !! Don't be sad !! You will find a better girl !! LOL !

Conclusion

Overall, Hana Kimi is a good comedy show. It's light and entertaining. It's silly and common sense is nearly void in the show. Throw away logic and common sense and watch this drama and you would actually enjoy it. I would give it a 7.5 out of 10. If you like to watch drama, I would recommend Hana Kimi as it is definitely worth watching and not a waste of time at all watching it.
Once again...

and once again...
Yes we got it Nakatsu.

To The Orchard and Waterfall !

Went to the orchard and waterfall the other day. It wasn't what I expected it to be. I was expecting more shades and very comfortable green grasses to sit on (like those picnic sites in movies lol) but I found out that it is actually a jungle (look like a jungle, only that there are paths to walk on).

My mother was expecting a durians and rambutan (so do her friends) but no durian and rambutan wor !! She even brought knife, cutting board and news paper to 'sembelih' the durian tim. But all is not lost as she and her friends pluck very big papayas on their way out.

Then after that we went to the waterfall ! The water is brownish in colour...At first I was a bit suspicious of the colour of the water...But I gave into temptation and go play in the water anyway.

Red And Shiny !!

Hehe. And Oh ! We found a very big milipede !! I was taking picture of the bridge when I spotted this very big milipede crawling on the ground. Ah Yan was pretty freaked out by it, but me and Eeren thinks it's cool and cute !

Teng ! Teng ! Teng ! Put it on my hand xD. It has the very ticklish sensation. :D Oh well, that's all for this post !

Online Games Now and Then

Online games have changed so much this passing years. As technology continues to advance, so does gaming. Let's compare our old time favourite online game, Ragnarok Online with some of the more recent games in development. Eh...you know RO right ? It's one of the first online game in Malaysia.

In fact, when it was released in Malaysia most of us was hooked by the game. Some, secretly go to CC to play it (during and after school). I even ponteng bio class last time to play it. That time everybody talks about RO. We would ask each other "What class are you ?" and then make statements like "My acolyte pawns your acolyte...etc". I still remember during SPM I would take some time off from study and go to the nearest CC and play with friends. *AHEM*

Now let us see how cool present online games are. Presenting, Mabinogi:Heroes aka Vindictus.

As you can see, Vindictus offer very in depth character creation unlike it's older counterpart. So much, hair style to choose from and look at how the cutie smile ! Expressions are so beautiful or cute XD Most online games only offer a fixed look resulting in frequent encounters with a 100% similar looking character (aka evil twin).

Something for you girls to drool on. Don't you wish you can customize the way you look to in real life too ? Sigh lol.

I Demand JUSTICE !

I am a very photogenic person. But somehow people always tend to mess my pictures up. *AHEM!* LOL. I mean look at this photo...

You see that ? You can't ? Wait let me mark it...

You see it now ? How could anyone take a photo with me looking like that !? NOOOOO !!! Upon further zooming into the photo, you will realize that I am actually just talking.

On close up, doesn't look too bad right ? Minus the red eye of course.

So I demanded for JUSTICE !! And it was served...Now this looks so much better. =D

This was taken during Tini's birthday btw =) Happy Birthday Tini (again) .

Bird Park 1

Where is vincent you ask ? Why blog no update de ? These are questions that floats around the brain of most readers who used to come to this small corner to waste time reading the not-very-interesting-post by Vincent Chin.

Is the blog dead ? Maybe...Maybe not. But anyway my semester is very packed. So i won't be posting much at all during this period. Here are some updates to break the ice and to keep the blog from smelling too nasty due to rot.

KL BIRD PARK

I dunno about you, but usually when you relate an object with Malaysia, the first impression I get is....eh...*inferior* AHEM ! a 'superb' quality object. I don't know why I feel this way...the 3 months of NS training should have made me patriotic but somehow it had a reverse effect on me.

So when Clarence said KL BIRD PARK, I was expecting nearly dead birds lying around. Emo and depress birds trapped in cage and dead birds hanging in the ceiling. When I got there, I was quite to surprise to find the condition of the Bird Park in very GOOOOOOOD shape.

There are dead birds there, yeah, but they are mummified and for display. Also contrary to my premature speculation, the birds are not depress, emo and trapped in cages (some of them are in cages, big birds like Ostrich for example) . They roam freely and they are healthy. Their diet consist of fruits....A LOT FRUITS. The birds here definitely have a healthier diet than humans for sure.

Here are some nice photos =)

Photography failure due to back light. Bird btw with some photoshop tweak.

Birds making out. And someone was actually in awe with the mouth wide open "waaaaahhhh..." and we have to tell him to close his mouth in case something drip in.

Burung nuri ( i think ) eating fruits. The blue one eats long bean !

This is a peacock.

Very nice tail.....must pluck one...must pluck one...

No ! Just one feather ! Don't run !!

I failed to get a peacock feather as a souvenier. =( but as i was leaving the bird park, i saw an indian family walking out of the park with peacock feathers. 0_o How did they capture that dang peacock. It runs so fast. Will post more pictures for my next post. =)

Know Your Semen or Breast

Found this pics yesterday while browsing the net. Seriously...new surprises everyday eh ? That or I am just plain blur and...blur lol. Click the links to view the enlarged picture .

For Males

so basically I need to eat more fruits ? ...But its not like I am gonna taste it....*mumble* But bitter and acidic semen sounds dangerous *mumble*

For Females

6 months of jail because of not wearing bra ? 0_0 Luckily males don't get thrown into jail for not wearing undies. And smoking makes ur boobs saggggy !! Heh.

Vincent's 1st Recipe... Macaroni and Cheese

Cook Time : 10 minutes

Ingredients :
2 Cups of Macaroni (cups ? measure in cups ke ?)
4 Tablespoon of butter
1/4 cup of Milk (I use HL)
1 cups of cheese sauce

1) Boil the macaroni for 7-8 minutes until the macaroni is tender and soft (just like maggi mee). Stir it time to time.
2) After that, simmer/drain it of water. Once done, put the macaroni back into the pan/pot.
3) Put 4 tablespoon of butter and 1/4 cup of milk into the pan/pot. Then put in the cup of cheese sauce. Mix and stir it well !
4) Complete !! See it's so easy !! You can make it even if you are a complete retard !!

And the outcome is *drums roll* ....

Doesn't look appetizing to be honest but at least it's consumable and good. I should really put in some ham/sausages...

*note to self. remember to put in some meat and vegetables, either wise you will end up eating one whole bowl of empty macaroni and cheese like me.
